Elizabeth Gilbert and Ashley Villaverde Halvorson, attorneys at Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, were among the second graduating class of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel’s Ladder Down Program.

The AADC Ladder Down Program is a one-year course that was created to provide women lawyers proper training on how to build a book of business and how to become better leaders. The program began in 2013 with a class of 24 women and has since expanded to a class of 30 women in 2014. The program was designed to help women get the proper training to achieve positions as equity partners, shareholders and top rainmakers at firms across the nation.

Ms. Gilbert has been a trial attorney since 1995 and has tried over 75 jury trials in both criminal and civil matters.  Ms. Gilbert spent the first 12 years of her legal career at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Ms. Halvorson joined Jones, Skelton & Hochuli as an Associate in 2009, and concentrates her practice on bad faith and extra-contractual liability, and insurance coverage.
