Each year, Jones, Skelton & Hochuli conducts an in-house Trial College program for its senior associates to provide practical, hands-on training. For 11 weeks, partners present on fundamental trial techniques designed to develop and refine the skills necessary for excellence in trial practice. The associates apply those skills in a 3-day mock trial, where they are assigned as plaintiff’s or defense counsel, and present opening statements, direct and cross-examinations, and closing arguments. JSH staff serve as the jury, and the firm’s Managing Partner, Bill Holm, and senior partner, Georgia Staton, act as Judges. The program concludes with jury deliberations and a verdict.

This year’s JSH associate participants included Keith Collet, Alex LaCroix, Kimberly Page, Kyle Robertson, Erica Spurlock and Cory Tyszka. Presenters included JSH partners Bob Berk, John DiCaro, Eileen GilBride, Mike Halvorson, Bill Holm, John Masterson, Michele Molinario, Joe Popolizio, Russ Skelton and Georgia Staton. The Program is administered by the firm’s Director of Litigation Support, Narinda Greene, and Executive Director, Carole Spivey.
